Job summary

The City of Pasadena is seeking an Assistant City Attorney I to provide legal services for municipal matters, advise staff and officials, and draft and review contracts and ordinances. The role includes representing the City in court, attending city meetings, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.

Requirements include a Juris Doctor, Texas Bar admission, and a valid Texas driver's license. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited school of law.
• Member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas.
• Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Advise City staff and elected/appointed City Officials in municipal law.
• Draft, negotiate, review contracts, real estate documents, and agreements.
• Draft legislation, ordinances, regulations, resolutions, and guidelines.
• Represent the City in courts and administrative hearings as needed.
• Prosecute on behalf of the City and provide legal counsel for proceedings before various agencies.
