Chroma Early Learning Academy in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Assistant Childcare Teacher to support lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing classroom for toddlers and preschoolers. You will help implement age-appropriate activities, supervise children, and maintain a clean, organized space.

You will monitor development, document milestones, and communicate with families and staff. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years old, background check, and CPR/First Aid certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to Pass a Background Check.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Ability to meet all requirements under Georgia’s Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.
• Passion for early childhood education and the social-emotional well-being of young children.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in the day-to-day care of the children in the classroom.

• Support the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.
• Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families.
• Follow all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.
• Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training required for Quality Rated compliance.

About This Role

At Chroma Early Learning Academy, an Assistant Childcare Teacher supports lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. This role involves helping to implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development, while ensuring the well‑being and supervision of all children in the classroom. Responsibilities may include assisting with lesson preparation, maintaining a clean and organized space, monitoring behavior, and communicating effectively with staff and families. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and passionate about early childhood education, with a willingness to collaborate and adapt in a dynamic childcare setting.
