Job summary

Houston ISD seeks a senior safety leader to Direct law enforcement and security programs across the district. You will report to the Chief of Police and shape district-wide policies, plans, and safety strategies to ensure a safe educational environment.

Responsibilities include supervising safety programs, collaborating with administrators and external partners, and guiding budget decisions while maintaining compliance with TCOLE and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required. FBINA or PERF’s SMIP or Texas Leadership Command College preferred.
• 7+ years police experience and rank of Police Lieutenant or equivalent.
• Master TCOLE certification in law enforcement and related training.

Responsibilities

• Report to Chief of Police and plan, organize, and direct district-wide policing and safety programs.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and strategies compliant with law and standards.
• Direct department supervisors of internal safety programs.
• Liaise with district administrators, law enforcement executives, community groups, courts, and the District Attorney’s Office.
