California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) seeks an Assistant Chief Law Enforcement Coordinator to lead statewide mutual-aid efforts and coordinate across law enforcement, homeland security, and search and rescue programs. The role requires swift decision-making in emergencies and independent operation to protect lives and property.

The position involves liaison with local, state, and federal partners, planning and executing exercises, and guiding best practices.

Qualifications

• Sworn peace officer
• Experience coordinating law enforcement mutual aid and emergency response programs
• Ability to advise agencies and manage complex incidents

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Mutual Aid across state and local agencies
• Plan and participate in emergency exercises and training events
• Liaise with federal, state, local agencies and private sectors
• Share information and provide best-practice guidance
• Make decisions during emergencies to protect lives and property
• Coordinate law enforcement activities during disasters or civil disturbances
• Report and analyze during assigned events and incidents
