Job summary

Magical Beginnings in Norwell, MA, seeks an Assistant Director to join our center leadership. You will help ensure safe, efficient operations, drive enrollment, support staff, and foster a welcoming environment for children, families, and teachers.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in early childhood education or related experience or training
• EEC Director II Certification and current First Aid/CPR and active State Registry
• Solid understanding of licensure regulations, including licensing visits and regulatory changes
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Director, Lead Teacher, or Keyholder/Mentor Teacher in an early childhood setting

Responsibilities

• Oversee center operations in line with state regulations and Magical Beginnings' policies
• Ensure child-to-teacher ratios, safety, and licensure requirements are met
• Prepare for licensing visits and communicate with licensors
• Maintain compliant staff and child files; ensure monthly fire drills
• Schedule staff within payroll guidelines while maintaining licensure and quality
• Lead and support teaching teams toward excellence
• Foster a cohesive, supportive team; conduct monthly staff meetings and parent meetings
• Support curriculum development and monitoring of progress using appropriate tools
• Provide excellent customer service to families and staff alike
