Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in early childhood education is required.
  • Minimum one-year supervisory experience in an early education setting is required.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities are essential.
  • Desire to work with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with basic computer software and data collection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure day-to-day operations of the Center with the Center Director, and cover in their absence.
  • Ensure Head Start and Early Education programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Make recommendations for hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide onboarding, orientation, and training to staff to maintain high-quality staffing.
  • Lead and supervise staff; communicate expectations and outcomes.
  • Schedule substitutes to maintain staff ratios.
  • Maintain nurturing, educational classroom environments addressing children’s needs.
  • Collaborate with Education Coach to monitor and improve instruction quality.
  • Develop and assess weekly curriculum plans.
  • Serve as a policy and procedure resource for staff.
  • Engage families in center activities and child’s education, and refer to community resources as needed.
  • Maintain client records and update in Child Plus database.
  • Conduct monthly one-on-one supervision and annual professional development plans.
  • Prepare timely performance reviews in line with deadlines.
