Assistant Carpenter - Maintenance Community Homes

Salary Ranges from $17.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on Experience and Qualifications.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist in timely and on budget completion of building projects assigned by the department head.

To protect the safety of the individuals we support and staff, Springbrook requires new employees to be current on all recommended vaccinations, including but not limited to: COVID-19.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist carpenter in construction projects, such as decks, concrete walks, providing new openings for installing doors and/or windows.
  • Remodeling projects such as bathrooms, kitchens, and office spaces.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • In charge of equipment and tools, to ensure they are kept in proper order and well maintained.
  • Provide a safe environment for residents & staff by constructing a work zone barrier to minimize peripheral impact from construction activity and to restrict access to power equipment by non-facilities personnel.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years' experience in carpentry preferred.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds in a safe manner.
  • Meet the requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.
