Job Description

The Assistant Caregiver provides assistance to residents in a manner that meets or exceeds community expectations. Responsibilities include responding to emergency calls and situations, documenting and reporting care provided, and transporting residents to various functions or locations. Familiarity and willingness to work with the elderly population are essential for this role.

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing, and maintaining their personal environment.
  • Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining areas.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards.
  • Review and adhere to resident care plans, including obtaining vital signs.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this position, the following experiences and skills are required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Meeting all state educational requirements for the position
  • CPR certification
  • Experience working with elderly populations is preferred
  • A calm, helpful, and respectful demeanor
