Job description

The Assistant Caregiver provides assistance to residents in a manner that meets or exceeds community expectations. You may be required to respond to emergency calls and situations; document and report care provided; and transport residents to various functions or locations. Familiarity and willingness to work with elderly population is essential for this role.

  1. Providing residents with assistance in the activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing, and maintaining their personal environment.
  2. Transporting residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
  3. Responding to emergency calls, resident and/or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
  4. Reviewing and adhering to resident care plans as well as obtaining vital signs.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • All state educational requirements for the position must be met.
  • CPR certification.
  • Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
  • A calm, helpful, and respectful demeanor is appreciated.
  • If not certified, must be able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire, if required.
