Job summary

Great Hearts Academies in Arizona is seeking an Assistant Campus Coordinator for a 12‑month, .6‑time role in the Co‑Curricular Programs. This position provides managerial and operational support to the Campus Coordinator in a non‑benefits‑eligible capacity.

You will help run after‑school and summer programs, handle paperwork, supply orders, curriculum prep, staff training, and marketing tasks, while ensuring licensing compliance and proper documentation of student behavior.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent and strong written/verbal communication.
  • Experience with children’s programming and licensed programs preferred.
  • Possess knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Follow procedures to ensure high quality after-school and summer programs.
  • Assist with paperwork, supplies, curriculum preparation, training, and marketing.
  • Maintain licensing compliance and document student behavior incidents.
  • Act on behalf of Campus Coordinator when needed.
  • Attend meetings at home office and local locations.

JOB SPECIFICATION

POSITION: Assistant Campus Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Great Hearts Lead Office, Co-Curricular Programs
LOCATION: GH Arizona – Varies
REPORTS TO: Campus Coordinator
EEO CLASSIFICATION: Administrative Support Workers
FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $17.34–18.50

POSITION SUMMARY

The Co‑Curricular programs at Great Hearts Academies include After‑School Athenaeum and Summer Programs. The Assistant Campus Coordinator provides managerial and operational support to the Campus Coordinator in a 12‑month, .6‑time (24 hours weekly), non‑benefits‑eligible position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure high quality after‑school and summer programs.
  • Assist with operational and administrative tasks such as completion of paperwork, ordering supplies, curriculum preparation and implementation, staff training, marketing efforts, and other tasks as directed.
  • Utilize appropriate child guidance and classroom management strategies.
  • Model and instill Great Hearts 9 Core Virtues (responsibility, perseverance, integrity, honesty, courage, citizenship, humility, friendship, wisdom).
  • Maintain licensing compliance in all areas of program operations.
  • Follow protocols for responding to and documenting student behavior.
  • Escalate incident reports and significant events to Campus Coordinator.
  • Substitute in classroom as needed.
  • Act on behalf of Campus Coordinator in their absence.
  • Adhere to Great Hearts policies, procedures, and business initiatives.
  • Attend meetings at home office and other local business locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES & STRENGTHS

The successful candidate will be a principled, professional leader with an independent work ethic and a heart of service to others. They must demonstrate sound business judgment and wisdom in dealing with people. Required experience includes liberal arts and/or education, experience with children and children’s programming, and preferably experience in a licensed program. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in a licensed program and meet the qualifications of Director Designee in accordance with Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Child Care Licensing. Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Required to obtain CPR/First Aid certification upon hire.
Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP fingerprint clearance card upon hire.

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

May need to travel locally within the Phoenix metro area for training, professional development, and program coordination.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
