Job summary

A/U Ranches in Buena Vista, CO seeks an Assistant Camp Director to help run seasonal sessions and support the director team.

You will coach staff, schedule activities, run day-to-day operations, assist campers and ensure a positive, values-driven camp culture in line with Christian Science teachings. This role requires flexible support across areas and, when needed, living in staff cabins with other team members to maintain safety and camaraderie.

Assistant camp directors ensure camp sessions run smoothly by supporting staff, campers, and activities. They work closely with the director team to facilitate training, run day-to-day activities, respond to camper and staff needs, schedule activities, and coach staff. Assistant camp directors set the tone and culture of camp by modeling what it means to live Christian Science, serving joyfully, communicating clearly, and responding thoughtfully to needs.

Qualifications

• Live a demonstrated commitment to Christian Science
• At least 21 years old at time of employment, college graduate preferred
• Willingness to uphold high moral and ethical standards
• Leadership experience in a role working closely with others
• Enthusiasm for working with young people with love, patience, and consistency
• Ability to flexibly support in a variety of areas as needs arise
• Ability to participate in outdoor adventure and recreational activities
• Ability and willingness to live in a cabin with other staff when needed
