Job Title: Assistant CAD Designer (Handbags)

Primary Purpose: The Assistant CAD Designer will work under the direction of the Sr Director, Creative Studio to create and execute all handbag and slg sketches into 2D/3D illustrations to visually represent designs and design stories for presentations and factory execution. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, interpret a wide variety of actual and prospective components and materials into compelling 2D renderings and to group images for presentations in collaboration with the design team.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Create and render the seasonal full assortment of leather goods illustrations using photoshop and illustrator
  • Create original artwork and adjust existing artwork to be translated into leather applique and/or 3-dimensional pieces.
  • Creates swatches and brush patterns in illustrator to use for CADs and share with design team
  • Actively participates in the conceptual development of product lines (i.e., ability to communicate and sell ideas/concepts).
  • Participate in research and development of seasonal trends and keep up-to-date on current trends.
  • Create and maintain presentation boards and visual decks for handbags and slgs.
  • Supports design team with material development technical specs
  • Assistwith artwork placementfordetailed technical specsfor all rounds of development.
  • Build and maintain a CAD library within Adobe Creative Cloud for the design team to easily access and utilize

Education and experience required:

  • 1+ years of design experience
  • Experience designing fashion leather accessories; experience with SLGs a plus.
  • Strong computer knowledge, including adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong ability to hand sketch and computer render.
  • Strong design and conceptual skills.
  • Strong sense of trends/style, graphic design and color.
  • Experience working with printsis a plus.
  • Handbag material and construction knowledge.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
