Family Dollar is seeking an FD Assistant Buyer at the corporate office to support Buyers in planning, purchasing, and merchandising across assigned categories. You will help maximize sales and profits by analyzing data, creating plans, and supporting ads and promotions.

The role requires 1+ years in retail/buying and proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail math. Bachelor’s degree is preferred; travel is limited and the position is full-time at the Chesapeake, VA location.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail, buying, replenishment or similar experience.
• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree; strong merchandising and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and retail math; ability to analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Support Buyers in planning, purchasing, and merchandising of assigned categories.
• Develop competitive strategies and pricing plans with Buyers.
• Create reports (MicroStrategy and others) and analyze category performance.
• Assist in ads, endcaps, and promotional materials with accuracy.
• Maintain vendor relationships and track co-op, vendor billings, and funding.
