Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods in the Pittsburgh area is seeking an Assistant Buyer to help develop category assortments and support merchandising planning across channels. You will collaborate with Buyers, participate in pre-line meetings, update line reviews, analyze performance, and assist with advertising execution, pricing strategies and cross-functional initiatives to drive sales and profitability.

A Bachelor’s degree or retail experience and 1–3 years in retail are required, with internship

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail experience.
1-3 years of retail experience required.
Previous Assistant Buyer or buying internship preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop Category Assortments by collaborating with buyers and applying financials.
Participate in vendor pre-line meetings and secure item data for seasonal setup.
Update hindsight recaps and recommend what worked and what didn’t.
Research market data to explain trends and anticipate big ideas.
Prepare line review deliverables and attend pre-season reviews with leadership.
Own advertising execution from planning to proofs and pricing alignment.
Collaborate with Planning, Marketing, Store Ops and Pricing on category strategy.
Mentor new hires and share best practices.
