Job summary

The Vitamin Shoppe is seeking an Assistant Buyer in Secaucus, NJ to support the Merchandise Buyers by driving the business and developing merchant skills. You will handle administrative tasks, assist with merchandise selection, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely promotions across all channels.

In this role you will build foundational buying knowledge, analyze basic business data, manage purchase orders, and communicate with vendors to support assortment planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or business economics required.
• 2+ years buying experience in retail or health/ wellness preferred.
• Experience in retail, supplement industry, consumer goods preferably.

Responsibilities

• Support Buyers by handling administrative duties and PO management.
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams to align pricing and promotions.
• Assist in assortment planning and product selection.
• Monitor stock levels and generate basic merchandising reports.
• Develop knowledge of buying processes and market trends.
• Coordinate with Product Development, Supply Chain, Marketing and Retail.
• Prepare for vendor meetings and assortment planning sessions.
• Maintain calendar for merchandising team and assist travel for vendor visits.
• Support in promotional planning across channels.
