Job summary

J & J Staffing Resources in Pennsauken, NJ is seeking an Assistant Buyer for a direct hire role. The position offers a $60,000-$75,000 annual salary based on experience, with a Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:00pm schedule and benefits including healthcare and a 401(k).

You will support the Senior Buyer by sourcing closeout, overstock, and other merchandise, communicate with vendors, manage purchase orders, monitor inventory, and negotiate pricing.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of purchasing or merchandising experience.
• Wholesale, distribution, closeout, or off-price industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open orders and vendor relationships simultaneously.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Experience with purchasing and inventory management software.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

• Assist with negotiating pricing and terms under the direction of the Senior Buyer.
• Coordinate with the warehouse receiving team regarding incoming shipments.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records.
