Job summary

Zumiez in Lynnwood, WA is hiring an Assistant Buyer to support the buying team. This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Buyer and involves assisting in the buying process, proactive reporting, and serving as the primary liaison with stores.

Responsibilities include SKU/PO creation, tracking deliveries, preparing sales reports, sample coordination, store transfers, and addressing product inquiries. Travel to domestic markets and events is required.

FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt, Full-Time

DEPARTMENT : Buying - 724

LOCATION : In-office at the Lynnwood Home Office

EFFECTIVE DATE: Sep 2026

POSITION SUMMARY : The assistant buyer is a critical position to the operation of the buying department. Responsible for assisting in buying process, proactive reporting and primary communication with the store team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Understanding and application of “retail math” and business analysis

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:

• 1-3 years of retail experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or combination of equivalent education and work experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

• Ability to sit at a workstation in an office environment for extended periods of time and work on a PC without limitations.
• Ability to move about, sit, bend, and squat in an office environment to access files and gather information
• Occasional travel to Zumiez production locations, stores, and events.
