Job summary

The California Department of Justice seeks an Assistant Director to lead the Compliance Branch within the Bureau of Gambling Control. The role directs professional staff across multiple sections and participates in policy development under the Gambling Control Act and tribal-state compacts.

The AD represents the Bureau on legislative and interagency matters, oversees personnel and budget processes, and ensures effective enforcement and compliance programs.

• Manage and administer the Compliance Branch within the Bureau of Gambling Control.
• Oversee the Compliance and Enforcement, Audits and Compact Compliance, and Special Programs Unit.
• Develop goals, policies, and regulations under the Gambling Control Act and tribal-state compacts.
