Job summary

Greater Erie Community Action Committee (GECAC) is seeking an Assistant Budget Analyst to join our team in Erie, PA. This full-time role supports the annual operating budget and related financial activities for our $15 million program portfolio.

You will assist in budget preparation, monitor revenues and expenditures, and ensure contract compliance across aging and other programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MIP Fund Accounting is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree with 3–5 years in public or private accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree with 1–3 years in public or private accounting.
  • Experience in budgeting and nonprofit accounting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Teams.
  • Knowledge of MIP Fund Accounting Software a plus.
  • Must have Act 34 clearance and meet immigration requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Budget Analyst with annual operating budget preparation.
  • Financial management and analysis of data and contracts.
  • Prepare and maintain budgets and projections for programs.
  • Assist with line-item budgets and forecasting expenditures.
  • Monitor revenue and expenditures across programs.
  • Conduct fiscal monitoring of subcontracted/recipient agencies.
  • Review program income reports and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare reports and track in-kind contributions.
  • Review and process monthly invoices and AR billing.
  • Assist with aging division inventory.

GECAC - Assistant Budget Analyst

This rewarding Assistant Budget Analyst position is full time at 37.5 hours per week.

Job Summary

Will be able to follow established standard financial procedures in the following areas:

  • Assist Budget Analyst with preparation of annual AAA Operating Budget.
  • Financial management and analysis of financial data and contract compliance
  • Prepare and maintain budgets and projections for AAA programs
  • Assist with development of line item budgets and forecasting expenditures.
  • Monitor revenue and expenditures
  • Conduct fiscal monitoring of sub‑contracted/recipient agencies to ensure compliance.
  • Review senior center program income reports
  • Verify bank reconciliation on all program income accounts
  • Prepare reports, review in‑kind reports, and track and code senior donations
  • Review and process monthly invoices
  • Prepare monthly billing and monitor AR billing system
  • Assist with the physical inventory for the Aging Division
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with 3–5 years of experience in public or private accounting, or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with 1–3 years of experience in public or private accounting preferred.
  • Experience in budgeting and non‑profit accounting preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of MIP Fund Accounting Software a plus.
  • Must have current Act 34 clearance issued within the past 5 years and meet immigration requirements.
