We are seeking an Assistant Broker to join our growing team in Irvine, CA.
Assists Brokers by reviewing insurance applications, inspections, and other relevant information to evaluate, classify, and rate individuals and groups for insurance. Responsibilities include:
- Examining documents such as application forms, inspection reports, insurance maps, and medical reports to assess risk factors.
- Working with Brokers to ensure all required information is obtained, applications are completed correctly, quotes and binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly, and legal filings and taxes are handled appropriately.
- Preparing quotes, binders, and SLA filings as directed.
- Providing support for sales and production processes within the department.
- Reviewing risk submissions, rating for premiums and terms, and issuing binders.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with carriers and brokerages to place risks and grow the book of business.
- Reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Understanding and utilizing company facilities to negotiate placements and improve activity and results.
- Familiarity with agency management software and suggesting efficiencies.
- Issuance or re-issuance of Certificates of Insurance.
- Ensuring policy forms, terms, and conditions align with quotes and binders.
- Providing telephone assistance to answer basic producer questions or referring them to the Broker for complex issues.
Licenses and Certifications:
Skills & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; 1-3 months related experience or training; or an equivalent combination.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or financial discipline preferred.
- Pursuing CIC or CPCU designation preferred.
Pay Range: $22.00 - $30.00 hourly.
