Position Overview

Harris County Public Library (HCPL), established in 1921, has grown into a network of 26 branches, two technology centers, and two partner locations serving unincorporated Harris County and surrounding cities. Recognized for its innovative services and awarded the National Medal for Museum and Library Service in 2024, HCPL is committed to community engagement, diversity, and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and promote youth programs and outreach initiatives
  • Supervise staff and manage youth services operations
  • Develop engaging youth collections and literacy initiatives
  • Build partnerships with community stakeholders
  • Participate in professional development and serve on committees
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Library and Information Studies or related field (or equivalent experience as specified)
  • Relevant library experience demonstrating leadership and community engagement skills
