Job summary

Banner Bank is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager in Issaquah, WA to lead daily branch operations, coach tellers, and guide clients toward financial solutions. You will act in full management capacity in the Branch Manager's absence and help foster a sales and service culture.

The role requires at least 6 years in retail banking, leadership in supervising teams, and strong client service with knowledge of banking products. Travel up to 20% may be required; NMLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; equivalent education/experience considered.
• At least 6 years of retail banking experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Extensive knowledge of retail banking products, policies, procedures, and systems.
• Ability to manage complex accounts and provide financial guidance.
• Strong client service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Solid selling, cross-selling, and referral abilities; NMLS preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and travel up to 20%.

Assistant Branch Manager

As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will help lead the daily operations of the branch, coach and develop teller staff, and guide clients toward financial solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations, supervise, train, and coach teller staff.
• Support Branch Manager in developing a sales performance culture.
• Assist clients in achieving financial goals by referring bank products and services.
• Act in full management capacity in the absence of a Branch Manager.
• Oversee processing of daily financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments.
• Lead sales, operations, and client service efforts; coach, mentor, and develop teller team.
• Support operational tasks and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Follow and reinforce policies and procedures to minimize risk and support audit results.
• Engage clients in proactive financial conversations using the Banner Way process and tools.
• Present tailored recommendations aligned with client financial needs and goals.
• Refer clients to other specialists when needed.
• Answer questions and troubleshoot client account issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Maintain deep understanding of operational processes, compliance, and security standards.
• Drive operational efficiency through initiating solutions and participating in bank-wide improvement projects.
• Ensure staff follows policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.
• Act as a leader in sales, operations, and client service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required). Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• At least 6 years of retail banking experience.
• Experience in a supervisory or management role leading a project, process, or team.
• Extensive knowledge of retail banking products, policies, procedures, and systems.
• Comfort navigating complex accounts, including consumer and QuickStep lending.
• Excellent client service and relationship building skills with strong verbal and written communication.
• Effective selling, cross‑selling, and referral skills.
• Problem‑solving, negotiation, and ability to interpret client financial information.
• Experience in a financial sales‑oriented role.
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
• Up to 20% travel.
• NMLS registration preferred.
