Job summary

NBT in the United States is seeking a Branch Leader who will coach a high-performing team and drive sales and service excellence. You’ll recruit, train, and develop staff while ensuring the branch meets its goals and delivers outstanding customer care.

You will partner with the Branch Manager and business partners to uncover opportunities, handle customer issues with urgency, and oversee operations, compliance, and risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent retail, retail banking, or financial services experience.
• 3 years retail banking experience preferred.
• Business development & outside business sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in building a motivated, high-performing branch team through recruitment, training, and staff development; conducts regular coaching and career conversations; proposes salary recommendations to Branch and Market Manager; leads sales and service coaching to achieve branch goals.
• Identifies new relationship opportunities with Branch Manager; delivers solutions through needs-based conversations; refers customers to business partners; resolves issues with responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
• Provides supervisory oversight of branch operations, compliance, and risk; helps manage profitability by overseeing FTEs, fee waivers and budget items; ensures information security and fraud risk awareness.
• Represents the bank in the local market, fulfilling a leadership role with civic and community organizations.
• Other duties as required.

Pay Range: $22.63 - $30.17

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent retail, retail banking, or financial services experience.
• 3 years retail banking experience preferred.
• Business development & outside business sales experience preferred.

Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:

NMLS Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.

Tasks Performed:

• 50% - Assists in building a motivated and high performing branch team through the effective recruitment, training, and development of staff. Conducts regular and quarterly coaching and career development conversations. Proposes salary recommendations to Branch and Market Manager for approval. Responsible for sales and service coaching of branch staff and participating in the activities and results of the branch in achieving individual and team goals. Works with their manager to actively develop their decision making and business development skills to prepare for further leadership responsibilities.
• 25% - Works with Branch Manager and business partners to identify and establish new relationship opportunities. Has a working knowledge of both consumer and small business products and services; delivers solutions to customers through interactive, needs based conversations to assess and address their needs. Appropriately refers customers to business partners to meet current and future needs. Takes ownership to resolve customer issues and complaints while delivering an elevated level of responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
• 15% - Provides supervisory oversight of branch operations, compliance, and risk. Works with branch manager to ensure branch profitability by managing FTE’s, fee waivers and other budget related items. Oversee branch operations and compliance controls. Ensures team understanding and awareness of information security and fraud risk.
• 5% - Represents the bank in the local market fulfilling a leadership role with civic and community organizations.
• 5% - Other duties as required.
