Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach for Monticello High School. This part-time role requires knowledge of VHSL rules, coaching experience, and the ability to train student-athletes effectively.

The position includes duties in educational settings, with the requirement of regular travel to matches. Applicants must be prepared for engagement with students, parents, and community members. A coaching stipend is available, and hours may include after school and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Duties performed in school settings including gym and recreational areas.
• Frequent walking, standing, and light lifting required.
• Daily personal and close contact with student-athletes.
• Regular travel with student-athletes to and from matches.
• Contact with other coaches, administrators, parents, and media.

Skills

Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations

Ability to develop and train AA student-athletes

Personal skills for positive relations with student-athletes and community

Extensive knowledge of individual and team fundamentals of soccer

Ability to organize and prepare practice schedules

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations.
• Ability to develop and train AA student-athletes.
• Personal skills that reflect positive relations with high school student-athletes, parents and the community.
• Extensive knowledge of the principles of individual and team fundamentals of soccer.
• Ability to organize and prepare practice schedules.
• Ability to develop a solid discipline that emphasizes teamwork and good sportsmanship.
• Previous coaching experience is required.
• Preference will be given to candidates who hold or are eligible for a Virginia teaching license.
