Job summary

Hoquiam School District #28 is seeking an Assistant Coach for after-school soccer programs. The role supports the Head Coach, helps develop the district athletic program, and collaborates with boosters and alumni groups to promote Grizzly sports.

The position requires knowledge of soccer and coaching experience, with duties including season preparation, in-season supervision, and post-season tasks. Start date is February 22, 2027, with a stipend and district training requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of soccer and prefer coaching experience.
• Must be at least 21 years or older.
• Background check: Washington State Patrol & FBI fingerprints on file.
• Complete Hoquiam School District training.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in program development and district-wide athletic objectives.
• Provide direction to the athletic program, including budget items and personnel.
• Build relationships with boosters and alumni groups to promote Grizzly sports.
• Maintain a positive, professional presence with staff, students, and parents.
• Communicate with other coaches about program development and athlete sharing.
• Attend all practices, meetings, and contests.
• Maintain contact with athletes regarding attendance and off-season activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
