Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for WHS to support program development and teach fundamentals while instilling good sportsmanship. The role requires adherence to WVSSAC rules and school policies.

The coach will organize practices and game plans in coordination with the coaching staff, supervise players and equipment, and model respectful conduct at all times. WV teaching credentials and CPR/AED certification are required.

Qualifications

• Valid West Virginia teaching certificate or WVDE substitute permit, or high school diploma or GED.
• Must hold a valid CPR/AED certification.
• Coaches that are not professional teachers are required to complete the WVSSAC Training and Certification Program.

Responsibilities

• Organize and implement practice and game plans in coordination with coaching staff.
• Develop high-caliber instruction, teach fundamentals and team strategy.
• Handle athletic injuries and supervise equipment; ensure safety and compliance with policies.
