Job summary

As an Assistant Biologist, you'll build valuable consulting experience by conducting field surveys, supporting environmental compliance, collecting biological data, and contributing to meaningful projects that protect California's diverse habitats and wildlife. Key Responsibilities:

Required Experience:
  • 0–2 years of relevant academic, internship, seasonal, field, or professional experience in biology, ecology, natural resources, or environmental consulting.
Preferred Experience:
  • Coursework or training in wildlife biology, botany, ecology, restoration ecology, GIS, or natural resource management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of California habitats and species.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform strenuous fieldwork, travel, and maintain a flexible schedule.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with threatened and endangered species surveys.
  • Proficiency in GIS applications.
  • Experience in restoration monitoring.
  • Familiarity with permit compliance.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports.

Starting salary is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications/permits, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions.
