Highland Community College in Highland, KS is seeking a part-time baseball program coordinator to assist the Head Coach and Athletic Director for the 10-month period (August–May). The role includes supporting practices, recruiting, travel, and promoting sportsmanship, with salary including room and board and meals provided when the cafeteria serves.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree, has a valid driver's license, and can read, write, and communicate effectively with diverse groups.

Formación

• Education/experience as described: Bachelor's degree required; computer experience desired; film editing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively before groups.
• Mathematical operations including rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions.

Responsabilidades

• Follow Highland Community College policies, NJCAA rules, and KCJC guidelines.
• Attend practices and home/away contests as assigned, including tasks like batting practice.
• Teach sportsmanship and model professional behavior.
• Teach fundamentals and techniques as directed by Head Coach.
• Assist Head Coach with assigned responsibilities and supervision tasks.
• Assist with driving to away contests and recruiting activities as directed.
• Remain loyal to Head Coach and the program.
• Support Rules, Mission, and initiatives of the Athletic Department.

Salary Range: $7,000.00 - $7,000.00 Salary/year

SUMMARY

This position assists in the coordination of the HCC Baseball team by performing all duties assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director to the best of their ability and in a professional manner. This is a part-time 10 month (August - May) position. Salary includes room and board. Meals are provided when the college cafeteria is serving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Attend and take part in the in-service training provided by the Head Coach.
2. Be familiar with and follow the policies of Highland Community College, the NJCAA, and the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
3. Attend practices and home and away contests in the Baseball Program as assigned by the Head Coach, including but not limited to throwing batting practice, hitting fungo, etc.
4. Teach sportsmanship and set an example of good moral and physical behavior.
5. Teach fundamentals, techniques, etc., as directed by the Head Coach.
6. Assume responsibility of assisting the head coach, under his/her supervision, in performing assigned responsibilities.
7. Assist the Head Coach with driving responsibilities to away contests.Assist the Head Coach with recruiting activities as directed.
8. Be loyal to the Head Coach and his/her program.
9. Participate in and be supportive of the Rules, Mission, and initiatives of the HCC Athletic Department and Athletic Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree required. Related experience and/or training desired. Computer experience desired. Film editing experience preferred.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record with no major infractions in the past five years.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, community members, and employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
