Job summary

The University of Washington Athletics Department is hiring an Assistant Baseball Coach to support the Division I program under the Head Baseball Coach. You will help recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes and assist with administrative duties and public relations.

You will coach athletes in specific areas, participate in practices and conditioning programs, and contribute to the mental approach of the game. You will work to develop a championship program with integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; minimum of one year of successful playing or coaching at collegiate or professional level.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Successful playing or coaching experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes; support administrative duties and public relations.
  • Coach athletes in assigned specialty areas and help develop highly competitive skills; assist with practices and strength programs.
  • Help build a championship Division I program; maintain professional relationships with coaches, staff and athletes and promote excellence and ethical conduct.

Job DescriptionWashington Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Baseball Coach to join their team.About this Opportunity:Reporting to the Head Baseball Coach, the Assistant Coach for Baseball is responsible for assisting in the successful operation of the University of Washington Baseball program.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes. Assist with administrative duties and public relations, participate in Husky Baseball clinics, fundraising activities, and the ongoing support and development of student-athlete academic success. (40%)Coach athletes, including the mechanics of assigned specialty areas, and development of highly completive skills. Participate in the administration and planning of practices and strength and conditioning programs. Provide a blueprint for a successful approach to the mental aspect of the game. (40%)Participate in the organization, development and implementation of a championship Division 1 baseball program. Build and maintain positive working relationships with coaches, staff, and athletes. Work towards goals of excellence in all aspects of the program, representing the University of Washington, Athletics Department, and program with the highest professional and ethical behavior.
