Job summary

Plano Community Unit School District 88 seeks an Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in creating organized practice schedules and academic plans to boost student-athlete performance.   • PEL or certified coach, ASEP certification and/or substitute certification required

Responsibilities

  • Assist/Support the Head Coach in developing a well-organized practice schedule using staff at all levels.
  • Assist/Support the Head Coach in developing a well-defined academic plan for all students to increase academic performance.
  • Cooperate with the athletic and school administration to provide a quality Athletic experience for all athletes.
  • Maximize practice time for both individual and team development.
  • Provide proper supervision and administration of locker room, training room, and bus trips.
  • Assist the Head Coach in summer/offseason program to develop skills and strength.
  • Maintain the program and ensure timely management and paperwork for eligibility, registration, scores, records, etc.
  • Plan and prep for banquets and other team events to recognize athletes.
  • Care for equipment: issuance, collection, inventory, storage.
  • Communicate with administration about equipment requests and budget needs.
  • Follow district procedures for equipment purchases and budgeting.
  • Attend all-conference meetings and stay in compliance with IHSA requests.
  • Maintain communication with feeder coaches, programs, parents, athletes, and bus barn during and outside the season.

Education
