Crescent Hotels & Resorts in Syracuse, NY is seeking an Assistant Banquet Manager to support the Banquet Manager in coordinating, training, and directing banquet personnel for successful events. You will uphold high service standards and guest satisfaction.

The role involves checking event orders, managing room setups, coordinating staff, and occasionally serving guests during functions, with opportunities to lead a team within a renowned hospitality brand.

Responsibilities

• Check server and houseperson banquet event orders to ensure information is accurate.
• Check room set-up to ensure directions are followed; public areas are neat and clean.
• Make contact with group representatives and explain how to reach you during the function.
• Verify staffing levels for next day’s functions; adjust schedules accordingly.
• Operate as a banquet server when needed; set-up, greet guests and break down the function.
• Inspect banquet areas at end of function; ensure equipment is returned and areas are clean.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Marriott Syracuse Downtown seeks Assistant Banquet Manager who will be responsible for providing assistance to the Banquet Manager in coordinating, supervising, training and directing all banquet personnel to ensure the success of all banquet events while maintaining high standards of service.

Here is what you will be doing each day as an Assistant Banquet Manager:

• Check server and houseperson banquet event orders to ensure that all information is accurate.
• Check room set-up to see that banquet event order directions are completely followed. Ensure that all public areas are neat and clean.
• Make contact with group representatives. Explain how to make contact if needed throughout the function.
• Verify staffing levels for the next day's functions. Adjust schedules accordingly through the addition or cancellation of servers/bartender/housepersons.
• Operate as a banquet server when needed; setting-up, greeting and serving the guest and breaking-down the function.
• Inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all areas are clean.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

You've worked in event management or catering. You have supervisory experience and know how to motivate a team to stay on task and exceed guest expectations.
