Responsibilities

• Direct middle school instrumental performers across bands and ensembles.
• Set performance requirements and verify student eligibility.
• Coordinate participation in concerts, games, parades and UIL events.
• Arrange transportation, lodging and meals for trips.
• Ensure compliance with laws, UIL rules and district policy.
• Support booster club activities and activity fundraising.
• Use evaluation data to improve program effectiveness.
• Recommend program policy improvements.
• Develop and implement lesson plans for instrumental music.
• Prepare lessons accommodating student differences.
• Present curriculum per TEA, policies and regulations.
• Use varied instructional strategies for diverse learners.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
• Create learning environments conducive to development.
• Apply discipline per Student Code of Conduct.
• Supervise students on trips and protect equipment.
• Maintain open communication with parents and staff.
• Be accessible for conferences via multiple channels.
• Communicate regularly with students and families.
• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Attend and support duties as assigned.
