Job description

Provides fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Assists the bakery manager with overseeing daily operations by ensuring policies and procedures regarding merchandising, sanitation, and training are followed. Inspects bakery products to maintain quality and availability to promote sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently work within company 5S efficiency standards to provide excellent customer service.
• Greet customers with a smile, make eye contact, and thank them for their patronage.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation according to 5S standards.
• Assist with bakery operations including preparation, baking, merchandising, and presentation of bakery products.
• Run the department in the absence of the manager.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through product quality, availability, and sanitation.
• Manage product presentation to meet customer needs.
• Adhere to all sanitation regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
• Fulfill all customer special orders.
• Assist in training bakery staff to meet performance standards.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and train staff accordingly.
• Help maintain inventory levels and control shrinkage.
• Learn financial aspects of the bakery, including paperwork, shrink, transfers, sales, and budgets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to manage others and follow through to achieve results.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Exposure to hot environments (constant 5-8 hours).
• Exposure to cold environments (occasional 1-3 hours).
• Sitting (occasional 1-3 hours).
• Twisting (frequent 3-5 hours).
• Pivoting (constant 5-8 hours).
• Pushing/Pulling up to 75 lbs (occasional 1-3 hours).
• Pushing/Pulling up to 2400 lbs (occasional 1-3 hours).

• Lifting up to 100 lbs (occasional 1-3 hours).

• Phone, Pallet Jack, Calculator, Dock Plates, Stackers, Case Cutters, Marking Guns, Cleaning products, Bakery equipment/utensils, Bread molder, Slicers, Bailer, Donut fryer, Computer applications, Dolphin.
