The County of Monterey, California is committed to driving efficiency, transparency, and accountability within its government and is seeking an Assistant Auditor-Controller to support these efforts. Reporting to the elected Auditor-Controller and collaborating with the office’s each division’s Chief Deputy, the Assistant Auditor-Controller provides strategic leadership and oversight across four divisions, while ensuring accountability in spending of the County's approximate $2 billion annual budget. The new Assistant Auditor-Controller will have the exciting opportunity to oversee the upgrade of the County’s Enterprise-wide Resource Planning (ERP) system including the financial, HR, payroll, and budgeting modules as part of a two-year system implementation. The ideal candidate will have a background in finance, auditing, accounting, preferably in a similarly sized public sector organization and a background ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards. An annual salary of $160,711 - $219,498 DOE/DOQ , plus a generous benefits package.
