Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Nebraska, or eligible by motion.

Responsibilities

  • Prosecute complaints against licensed health care professionals for violations of the Uniform Credentialing Act.
  • Conduct administrative enforcement proceedings from initiation through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motions practice, hearings, and appeals.
  • Review and evaluate complaints, advise professional health boards, work with experts, take testimony, and negotiate resolutions.
  • Draft petitions, motions, briefs, consent orders, settlement agreements, and other legal documents in health licensure matters.
  • Advise DHHS investigations of alleged violations of the Uniform Credentialing Act.
  • Represent the Department in administrative actions involving denial, renewal, or reinstatement of licenses, including court appeals.
  • Advise Bureau leadership, the Attorney General, and the board on health licensure enforcement and proposed legislation or rules.
  • Perform legal research and prepare analyses on complex professional licensing and regulatory issues.
