Job summary

Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking an Assistant Attorney General for the Construction, Infrastructure & Transportation Section. Located in Richmond, you will provide legal services to transportation agencies, including the Port of Virginia, Department of Rail and Public Transportation, and VDOT.

Qualifications

• Experience in state or federal procurement law and contracts/grants.
• General litigation experience and regulatory appeals knowledge.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; team collaboration.
• Admitted to the Virginia State Bar.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of legal services to transportation agencies, especially the Port of Virginia, VDOT, and rail/port entities.
• Advise on procurement acts, contract formation/administration, and FOIA issues.
• Handle litigation and coordinate with outside counsel on transportation matters.
• Draft opinions and review transportation-related legislation; located in Richmond.
