Job summary

Beaufort County Council seeks a program coordinator to ensure the execution of athletic programs for youth and adults and a variety of seasonal offerings. The role involves planning, implementing, and supervising leagues, plus coordinating field and facility usage to support community recreation.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of four years of college, 2–4 years of related experience, CPR/First Aid/AED, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in business, liberal arts, or any field other than engineering or the hard sciences.
  • Over two years and up to and including four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Ensures high-quality communication and customer service is provided to all volunteer coaches and participants.
  • Communicates information to coworkers to support a unified "team" operation of the department.
  • Executes scheduling and usage of County resources (fields, parks, and centers) for programs and public rentals.
  • Provides support to the administrative team during peak times by giving tours, answering questions, and covering the reception desk as needed.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

  • Manages the overall execution of youth and adult athletic programs including planning, implementation, and supervision of leagues.

  • Ensures high-quality communication and customer service is provided to all volunteer coaches and participants.

Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


  • Requires Bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in business, liberal arts, or any field other than engineering or the hard sciences.

  • Over two years and up to and including four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


Special Certifications And Licenses


  • CPR, First Aid and AED Certification.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.


Supplemental Information

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
