Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Compliance is responsible for assisting in all aspects of implementing and monitoring the Columbia University Intercollegiate Athletic rules compliance program.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Ivy League Conference and Columbia University rules and regulations.
  • Serving as the primary compliance contact for 15 varsity sports programs.
  • Assisting with determining team eligibility for practice and competition.
  • Maintaining and updating the student-athlete database in ARMS.
  • Creating and updating squad lists for all varsity programs for approval by the Director.
  • Assisting with eligibility and monthly coaches meetings for all sports programs.
  • Assisting in record keeping of all student-athletes in the University’s Student Information System (SIS).
  • Assisting in the monitoring the recruiting activities of the intercollegiate sports programs.
  • Serving as the primary liaison the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
  • Oversee initial eligibility for all incoming student athletes and assist in the review of all continuing eligibility for returning student-athletes.
  • Review and process official/unofficial requests for all sports.
  • Assist with compiling and submitting data for APP, EADA, and Sports Sponsorship reports.
  • Assist in sending required annual Ivy League submissions throughout the year.
  • Assist in setting up playing and practice season segments and CARA configuration for all sports in ARMS.
  • Assist with maintaining new transfer portal records and complete transfer tracers.
  • Assist in submissions of 5th-year waivers, medical absence, and medical hardship waivers to the Ivy League.
  • Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to NCAA, Ivy League Conference, University, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education rules and regulations.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of good working relationships with all members of the Department.
  • Assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent related experience required.
  • 3-5 years of related experience required.
  • Experience working with LSDBi, RSRO, NCAA Transfer Portal,ARMS, Teamwork, and other NCAA Applications strongly preferred.
