The Stanford University Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Athletics Director, Fan Experience. Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director, Marketing, this position will plan and execute the presentation of live sports events and fan cultivation eventsfor Stanford’s ticketed sports. This position will create experiences and design game elements that satisfy the evolving preferences of fans to ensure a successful event experience. The Assistant Athletics Director, Fan Experience will also be the primary point of contact for LSJUMB (Stanford’s band), Cheer,and other spirit groups. This is an onsite full-time, exempt position and will manage a staff comprising both full-time and part-time employees.
Serve as project manager of multiple activities, scope outproject tasks/team assignments and guide team to create work plans andschedules, monitor progress, and meet milestones.
Oversee the management of event teams and/or productionconsultants to produce quality, multi-faceted events andproductions.
Establish and maintain relationships with internal and externaluniversity partners.
Act as department representative at cross-departmental projectmeetings.
Operate as account manager on deliverables, program metrics, andstatus reports.
Work cross-departmentally to prepare and manage complex programbudgets.
Recommend and schedule events into appropriate off-campus andon-campus venues.
Oversee registration strategy and logistics.
May hire and oversee support staff, students and contingent eventstaff.
Train and supervise junior event planners in proper execution andimplementation of events.
Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience orcombination of education and relevant experience.
Superior project and event management skills.
Ability to manage a diverse team of staff and contingent labor,holding them to deadlines and the highest quality output.
Demonstrated experience with financial management of complexevent budgets requiring excellent analytical skills.
Extreme attention to detail and deadlines; ability to prioritizeand manage complex workflows.
Excellent communication, time management, and customer serviceskills. Must be well organized and detailed oriented.
Ability to accomplish goals working through formal and informalchannels, with diplomacy and tactfulness.
Demonstrated high level of confidence in making strategicdecisions, good judgment, and innovative and creative problem solvingskills.
Must possess and maintain a valid California non-commercial Class CDriver’s License.
