Job summary

The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support the Sports Medicine Department. The successful candidate will provide coverage for practices and games, supervise students, recruit scholarship help, and maintain the sports medicine facilities for student athletes.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Athletic Training, NATA-BOC certification, and strong communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in Athletic Training.
Certified by the National Athletic Training Association - Board of Certification.
Familiar with operating modalities and sports-related equipment (estim/ultrasound, ice, whirlpool).
Self-sufficient and able to lead staff.
Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills (Word/Excel).
Capable of basic calculations and travel arrangements online.

Responsibilities

Provide coverage for athletic practice sessions and game events, both home and away.
Assist with the assignment of sport coverage for all sports medicine staff.
Supervise work-study and scholarship students in the sports medicine department.
Recruit and coordinate scholarship students to assist the department.
Maintain sports medicine rooms to ensure optimal facilities for student athletes.
Perform administrative duties as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
