Duties

The part-time Assistant Athletic Trainer is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

Reporting directly to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic trainer will assist with providing medical care and coverage for twelve intercollegiate sports and assisting with additional coverage; maintain comprehensive injury, treatment, and rehabilitation records; develop rehabilitation and strengthening strategies for treatment, prevention, and off-season periods; handles pre-participation physical examinations for all student-athletes; attend departmental and athletic training staff meetings; other duties as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer/Administration.

  • Handles primary care for student-athletes
  • Provides medical coverage for scheduled practices and home events
  • Updates daily injury records, completes follow-up forms
  • Develops prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and management strategies for athletic injuries
  • Coordinates rehabilitation for athletes
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
  • Job will require a flexible schedule during the week and well as weekends, holidays and possible travel.


Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree required
• 2+ years' experience in the field or related preferred
• BOC (Board of Certification - Certified as an athletic trainer)• Illinois Licensure or eligible before start date required
• CPR and First Aid certified and meet the education minimum standards of the BOC as required

Position Status

Part Time Temporary

Hours

General hours:

15-20 hours per week during sports seasons

Role will require a flexible schedule during the week and well as weekends, holidays and possible travel.

$20.43.-$27.30
