Job summary

Delta State University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer to care for student-athletes and support the athletic department across intercollegiate teams. The role includes coverage for practices and games, with duties extending to nights, weekends, and travel, under supervision and coordination with physicians and staff.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree, NATABOC certification, MS licensure eligibility, and CPR/First Aid/AED certification, with a minimum of two years

Qualifications

• Master's degree in athletic training or related field.
• NATABOC certification and MS licensure eligibility.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Minimum 2 years of post-certification experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the care, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of injured student-athletes.
• Coordinate referrals, office visits and surgeries with team physicians/office staff.
• Provide direct athletic training coverage for assigned intercollegiate teams during practices and games, including nights, weekends and travel.
• Supervise graduate assistants; coordinate the secondary insurance program for student-athlete medical expenses.
• Abide by Delta State University, Gulf South Conference and NCAA rules and regulations; perform additional duties as assigned.
