Niagara University seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer to support care for the intercollegiate athletic program. JOB SUMMARY:
Under specific/routine supervision, the Assistant Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer with overall care of men's and women's intercollegiate athletic program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
% of Time
75% Provides coverage at assigned games and practice sessions; oversees work-study students and/or student intern athletics trainer(s); provides quality care for athletic injuries including evaluation, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and related illnesses.
15% Documents injuries; processes insurance claims; works with NU Drug and Alcohol Education and testing programs; performs other administrative duties.
10% Communicates with Head Coaches of assigned sports in regards to injuries and rehabilitation.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS:
The functions of the position usually performed standing, but may require some amount of time sitting. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. This position requires some traveling. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, calculator, wrapping, taping, labeling, and cutting and involve extensive wrist and hand movement. This position requires some traveling. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others.
