Assistant Athletic Trainer - Football (Northwestern State University)

Position: Assistant Athletic Trainer – Football

Institution: Northwestern State University – Natchitoches, Louisiana

Conference: NCAA Division I – Southland Conference

The Sports Medicine Department at Northwestern State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer within the Intercollegiate Athletics Department. This is a full-time, 12-month position starting on July 7th. The role involves working directly with the football program as a key member of our healthcare team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Provide comprehensive athletic training services including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  2. Deliver medical coverage for practices, games, and team travel.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with institutional and NCAA policies.
  4. Assist with the daily operations of the athletic training facility.
  5. Coordinate and supervise team physician visits.
  6. Support additional administrative tasks as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
Qualifications:
  • NATABOC certification and eligibility for Louisiana state licensure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Recent or soon-to-be graduates are encouraged to apply.
