Job summary

Eastern Washington University in Cheney seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer to supervise and support a Division I Sports Medicine program, ensuring prevention, evaluation and treatment of injuries for student-athletes. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall supervision of a division I Sports Medicine program.

  • Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes.
  • Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for student athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete.
  • Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs.
  • Schedule and coordinate athletic training staff and students for coverage of all team practices and athletic competitions.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking skilled and team‑oriented applicants for the following position: The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and supervises the care of student athletes competing in the University's Athletic programs. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is also responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University's comprehensive sports medicine program. The salary for this position is $48,005 - $52,426.00. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills. Conditions Of Employment

This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.

Additionally, The Following Conditions Apply
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) nights per year of travel is required for team competition.
  • Successful candidate will be required to complete the Hepatitis B shot series starting within 1 month of hire, or provide documentation of prior immunization, or complete a waiver of inoculation.
  • CPR/AED Certification required upon hire.
  • National Athletic Trainer Association Certification required upon hire.
  • Applicants must be able to maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA and institutional rules, regulations and policies.
  • Washington State Drivers License is required for the job and must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Rules compliance is an important responsibility of this position. Employee shall support and comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Big Sky Conference, and other established bodies that govern intercollegiate athletics and the University. In the event the Employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that violations of rules compliance may have taken place, Employee shall report same promptly to the Athletic Director, Compliance Coordinator, or his/her designee.

Required Qualifications
