Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area with collegiate athletics experience.
  • NATABOC certification.
  • New York State Athletic Training Licensure.
  • National Provider Identity (NPI).
  • Familiarity with NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA governing rules.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, travel, and communicate with a diverse group.

Responsibilities

  • Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses.
  • Evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries.
  • Assist in yearly physicals.
  • Counseling and education to student athletes.
  • Coordinate and schedule medical coverage for home and away competitions; set up and breakdown of medical supplies.
  • Home game and practice coverage; travel to national tournaments.
  • Record-keeping and EMR documentation.
  • Work with doctors and allied health professionals to deliver care.
  • Maintain inventory, ordering and stocking of supplies.
  • Maintenance of the Athletic Training Room.
  • Make sound decisions in the best interest of the program.
