Position Overview:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will support the Head Athletic Trainer in providing high-quality care to student-athletes. Responsibilities include the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, as well as coordination with other healthcare professionals and school personnel to ensure the well-being of all athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries
• Educate student-athletes and coaching staff on injury prevention strategies
• Coordinate care with healthcare professionals, student-athletes, and parents
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe athletic training facility
• Monitor inventory and manage supply orders
• Maintain and prepare medical kits for athletic teams
• Accurately document treatments, injuries, and rehabilitation plans

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Board of Certification (BOC) in good standing
• Current New York State Athletic Training License
• Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, some holidays, and travel as required
