Lebanon Valley College is seeking an experienced assistant athletic trainer to support its sports medicine program. The role involves assisting in the management of athletic injuries, rehabilitation, and education of student-athletes. The department of athletic training seeks an experienced assistant athletic trainer. Under the supervision of the head athletic trainer, the assistant athletic trainer works 10 months annually (August 1- May 31) and is responsible for assisting in athletic related health care under the supervision of the team physician(s). Responsibilities also include assisting in the supervision and coordination of LVC’s sports medicine program in injury prevention, evaluation, management and treatment of athletic injuries, short and long term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, and education and counseling of student-athletes regarding injuries and prevention.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in area of specialization and 4 years of professional experience preferred, or a Master degree and 2 years of professional experience, as well as certification by the Board of Certification (BOC), state athletic training licensure, and familiarity with NCAA governing rules. CPR-First Aid certification is preferred as well as strength and conditioning experience, and the capacity to deal effectively in emergency situations. Availability for significant travel, evening or weekend hours as necessary, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis (or with assistance), and a valid PA driver’s license are also required.
