Assistant Athletic Coach - Varsity/Junior Varsity Softball
Requirements / Qualifications:
- People Skills, Communication Skills and a successful record of leading and directing a successful Athletic Program.
- An appreciation for the Catholic spiritual and intellectual traditions, and a willingness and comfort infusing the Catholic faith into the Athletic Program.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred, and successful completion of all state Basic Coaches Class work, First Aid CPR, Concussion Protocols, and Sudden Cardiac Training is required.

What You Will Do:
- Be familiar with and supportive of the educational philosophy of the school and the diocese of San Diego and accept the obligations of Christian witness.
- Provide guidance on physical training and fundamental skill development that allows the student to grow as an individual and participate in a team environment.
- Support the Varsity program and follow the directives of the varsity head coach. All lower-level coaches report to the varsity head coach.
- Communicate with all entities of the school community including students, parents, athletic department, staff/faculty, and local media.
- Promote academic excellence of the athletes and celebrate those successes.
- Always have all athletic clearance cards from participating athletes with them.
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of athletes in their care during the hours of games, practice, and team activities.
- Work with the Athletic Training staff when injuries occur to their athletes and ensure a safe return to the team.
- Keep the athletic department informed of issues that may arise during the season at practice or game sites.
- Begin all practices and games with prayer.
- Collaborate with the Dean of Mission & Ministry to provide faith formation opportunities for the team.
