Job summary

Edmonson Co. High School is seeking an Assistant Coach to support the athletics program. You will assist with practices, motivate student-athletes, and help teach game strategies and techniques.

Requirements: must be 21+, have a high school diploma or GED, and pass all required background checks. You’ll supervise athletes, maintain equipment, distribute uniforms, and participate in seasonal events and activities.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years of age and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Instruct players in rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Assist with individual and small group practice activities.
• Help assess players' skills during competition and practice.
• Assist with determining game strategy.
• Supervise athletes during practices and competitions.
• Follow procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
• Model sportsmanlike behavior toward players, officials, and spectators.
• Maintain the equipment room in orderly condition and secure it.
• Distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students as directed.
• Participate in parent nights, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
• Distribute and maintain eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and related records.
• Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head Coach, Athletic Director, Principal or administrator.

Assistant Coach

Position is responsible for serving as the assistant coach of the program atECHS. 5. Helps supervise athletes during practices and competition.
6. Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
7. Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
8. Maintains the equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security.
9. Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students as directed by the head coach.
10. Participates in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
11. Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records.
12. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
13. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletic Director,Principal or other appropriate administrator.
